You’ve landed here because you saw something that gave you a feeling of connection. A glimmer, a passing thought, a twinge. We have something in common, even if it is just a simple curiosity about the world around us. I hope we have a lot in common. Do you love science and art? Logic and spirit? Making and wondering? This is a place to connect with women in midlife to explore and chat about things that are inspiring to us – it’s not all about the hot flashes!
Here, you’ll find my thoughts, inspirations and revelations from my precarious point of view. Tossed together with all the other things that float through my brain. I have so many interests and I need one place to let them muddle together and see what comes about.
Three years ago I sent my only son off to college and moved across the country to take care of my elderly mother. Trying to get by with limited resources, reinventing myself and hoping to create a new career. To some, my story will be encouraging; to others, a cautionary tale. Will I succeed in making this the best time of my life? Can I move through the mire and muck of post-menopausal angst and emerge wiser, healthier and happier?
P.S. This blog title comes from one of my favorite songs: “The Moon is Mine” by Fairground Attraction. Sung by Eddi Reader. It reminds me of some bad-bad days and gives me hope for good-good days to come.
